The first step

Callie originally left high school to become a mother; her new baby had to be her number one priority. When she decided to reach out and finish high school, she realized all the new opportunities she would have!

Callie exclaimed, “Taking the first step to finish high school with the Discovery Center has been a game-changer for me and my family!”

Just hit ‘Send’! 

Deciding to go back to high school made Callie feel a little anxious—she caught herself thinking, “Can I do this?”—but she recalls, “The moment I hit ‘send’ on my message—I did it, the thing I had been so scared to do. Next thing you know we’re on the phone. I got to say, ‘Look, this isn’t easy for me!’ They said, ‘We’re here to help’ and that’s what you need to hear.”

Here to help

The moment Callie reached out, the team at the Discovery Centre offered their support, eased her nervousness, and assured her they’d help her with every step.

Callie reports, “The Discovery Center had my back every step of the way—from the first step to today: to more options. More confidence. A new life for me and my family.”

At your own pace

Being a mother is important to Callie but sometimes it is a challenge to balance caring for her family and being a student, so she needed a school schedule that would work for her. She found that flexibility at the Discovery Centre plus an understanding support system!

Callie says some of the benefits of the Discovery Centre are: “small class sizes, big support, working at your own pace in the day or at night, and it’s free for most students!”
